3 Types Of Air Conditioning Systems To Install Today

Posted on

If you do not currently have air conditioning in your home, you should definitely consider it. Not only can it ensure that the comfort level in your home during the summer is significantly improved, but it can even improve air quality by filtering out dust in the air, which is great if anyone in your home has allergies. Here are three types of air conditioning systems you can have installed today:

Window Air Conditioning:

Window air conditioning is probably the easiest solution because you don't need a professional to install it for you. You can simply purchase a window air conditioning unit and place it in the window. These works by blowing cold air in and blowing warm air out through the window. They are only good for the room in which they are placed, though. So you must be sure that you purchase the right size so that it actually cools down the room it is in entirety. The benefit of this is that it is definitely more affordable than any other AC option.

Split Air Conditioning:

Split air conditioning is similar to a window air conditioner in the fact that it only cools the room in which it is placed, although it will cool the room a bit faster. The biggest difference is that a split air conditioning system is more energy efficient, which means you are going to save more money in the long run, although installation costs will be higher because you will need a professional to do it for you.

Central Air Conditioning:

Finally, there is central air conditioning, which is definitely the more desirable option because it cools the home entirely. Although it will cost much more to install central air conditioning in your home because a professional will also need to install duct work for the air flow to move around, you will actually save more in the long run. This is because new central air conditioning systems last longer than split or window air conditioning systems and do not require as much energy to work properly.

When you know the three different types of air conditioning systems to install, you can be sure that you choose the right one for you. The best way to determine which system is best is to determine whether or not you need to save on upfront costs. On top of this, it may not be worth investing in central air if you plan on selling your home or if you spend most of your time in only one room of the house, in which case split or window air conditioning will be more efficient.
